Students are the future of solar energy’s advancement. Therefore, Semper Solaris has decided to offer a scholarship opportunity – the Semper Solaris Scholarship to students that can offer creative insights into the future of renewable energy. The scholarship application is available for the academic year 2022-2023.
The scholarship program has been started for US national citizens enrolled in degree programs at American universities and colleges. The students must attain a 3.0 GPA and be enrolled in a full-time program at an accredited college or university between May 1, 2022, and May 31, 2023. 1st and 2nd prize winners will be selected, who will receive an award of $3,000 and $1,750 respectively.
Semper Solaris is a Veteran-Owned residential solar power installation company based in San Diego, California. The company was founded by Kelly Shawhan and John Almond in 2012. The company is highly regarded and known for its angle of hiring former Marines within the solar industry, as well as its focus on American culture in its marketing. Semper Solaris is also involved in many philanthropic initiatives, partnering with nonprofits such as Warrior Foundation Freedom Station to offer solar energy to veterans in need at no cost.

Who is Eligible?
- The applicants must be current freshman, sophomore, junior, senior, graduate students, or attending a military academy.
- The applicants must have a cumulative college grade point average of at least 3.0 on a 4-point scale.
- The applicants must be enrolled full-time at an accredited college or university between May 1, 2022, and May 31, 2023.
How to Apply?
The applicants must prepare the following documents:
- Proof of Enrolment
- Scholarship Essay
- Proof of GPA
The scholarship essay should be on the topic – ‘How can solar and renewable energy help local communities?’ The applicants must answer in no less than 1,000 words.

Benefits
The Semper Solaris Scholarship winners will be provided $1,750 to $3,000 to manage the expenses of their education in an American university. There will be 1st and 2nd prize winners who will be awarded $3,000 and $1,750 respectively.
Application Deadline
The students who are interested to apply for this scholarship to support their college education expenses must be sure to submit their application no later than 6th May 2022. Applications received after the application period will be void.
