The RAREis Scholarship Fund

A scholarship that is specially designed for people suffering from rare, incurable diseases, and who are in need of financial support. If you are 17 years of age or above, and are suffering from a rare disease, are residents of the United States, and want to carry on your education, are eligible for the RAREis Scholarship. You will be required to fill up a Diagnosis Verification Form to avail of this scholarship.

Students are not required to be pursuing an Undergraduate or Graduate degree, but they must be planning or willing to get enrolled in full-time or part-time in Undergraduate or Graduate study at an accredited two- or four-year College, University, or Vocational-Technical/Trade school for the session of Fall 2022 semester. Healthline & NORD Stronger Scholarship

The Healthline and NORD Stronger Scholarship is offered by the organization for the advancement of rare and chronic diseases, either through the means of research, patient advocacy, raising awareness, or community building. This scholarship is for Students who are currently juniors or senior Undergraduates, are suffering from chronic or rare diseases, or are involved in the advancement of these diseases. Being a U.S resident and maintaining a minimum GPA of 3.0 is a must.

Preference will be given to students of color who identify as Black, Indigenous, Hispanic, Latino/Latina, and/or Pacific Islander.

Biomarin Rare Scholars Program is for those diagnosed with mucopolysaccharidoses (MPS), phenylketonuria (PKU), or Batten disease, the treatment status can be current past, or future. Biomarin understands what it is to fight a rare disease, so they support these students to pursue Undergraduate or Graduate study.

The U.S and ex- U.S residents are eligible to apply, you will be required to maintain a GPA of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale, must be enrolled or planning to get enrolled in two-year or four-year College, University, or Vocational-Technical Schools in the U.S. or U.S. Territories for the entire 2021-2022 academic year. Hannah Ostrea Memorial College Scholarship

Hannah Ostrea Memorial College Scholarship was established in the honor of Little Miss Hannah Ostrea who suffered and lost a battle to a rare disease at the age of 3. This scholarship is for families affected by childhood rare diseases, who are in need of financial aid, any close member/relative of the affected can apply.

An amount of $1,000 is offered every year to eligible candidates at the event of World Rare Disease Day on February 19. The scholarship is restricted to students who reside in or has Graduated from High Schools in Clark, Lincoln, or Nye county (Southern Nevada). Other eligibility criteria include a minimum GPA of 2.5, permanent U.S residents or citizens, and enrolled in or have been accepted to an accredited two- or four-year college degree program. A scholarship designed with an aim to provide financial assistance to the students of High School and College, or adults, who are suffering from ITP or a similar inherited or non-inherited platelet disorder.

Candice’s Sickle Cell Disease Scholarship is especially for students suffering from Sickle Cell Disease, and are going through financial pressure to pursue their studies. Students who are College-bound, and reside in the Tri-State Area (NY/NJ/CT)  are eligible for this scholarship. There are not many criteria to follow, you just have to be a current Graduating High School Senior, and submit an essay of about 250 words explaining how the sickle cell disease has affected your life and education.

The Students With Heart Scholarship

The Students With Heart Scholarship is restricted to those students affected with critical Heart Diseases and those with Deformities. Those who wish to apply must be legal residents of the U.Sand must demonstrate financial needs.
