Applications are open to apply for the “Real World Design Challenge Scholarships”. Up to 7 awards available for both US and international candidates.
The Real World Design Challenge is an annual competition with the goal of sustainably increasing the Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics workforce.
RWDC began in 2008 with a partnership between industry, government, education and non-profit companies. Partners are organizations that contribute resources to make them challenge-free for teachers and students.

Who May Eligible
To be eligible, the applicants must meet all the following criteria:
- Participation is limited to students living in or enrolled in schools located in a state or territory that is hosting a State Competition. Schools are defined to include public, private, charter and home schools.
- To be eligible to compete as a student team member, a student must be currently enrolled in grade nine, ten, eleven or twelve. Students enrolled in school environments with alternative grade or level designations must be engaged in a program of study equivalent to the corresponding high school grade level.
- Student team members must have attained the age of 13 as of November of the competition year.
How to Apply
To be eligible for the scholarship, aspirants need to follow the following steps:
Step 1: Register- Applicants need to register yourself through the online portal
Step 2: Read the Coaches Guide and Challenge statement.
Step 3: Review additional materials about challenge subjects- FAA Proposed Regulations on UAS
Benefits
The successful candidates will receive an award amount of $50,000
