Rangel Graduate Fellowship Program

Charles B. Rangel International Affairs Program is calling students applying for graduate school in the fall of 2021 for a two-year program at a U.S university in an area of relevance to the Foreign Service to win Rangel Graduate Fellowship Program. The senior year students graduating or undergraduate by June 2021 are welcome to apply.

This scholarship will help students with their educational expenses needed for their graduate programs. Howard University Rangel Graduate Fellowship Program was started to attract the young generation to get involved in the Foreign Service of the U.S. Department of state.

The Rangel Program is started between Howard University and the U.S. State Department. This program was started to prepare outstanding young people for careers in the Foreign Service of the U.S. Department of State. The program helps individuals interested in helping shape a freer, secure and prosperous world with the help of U.S. Foreign Service.

Who May Be Eligible?

Below are the eligibility requirements needed to qualify the grant:

  • Candidate must be a U.S. citizen or permanent resident. International students are not eligible for this scholarship.
  • The applicant must have a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.2 or higher on a 4.0 scale.
  • Students must take admission in the graduate school of the Fall semester of 2021.
  • Candidates seeking admission for undergraduate should take admission in accredited college or university.
  • Applicants must be planning to enroll in a two-year graduate program in relevance to Foreign Service.
  • Applicants must be currently studying in their senior year of the undergraduate program and must graduate by June 2021.
  • Students who are college graduates are eligible for this scholarship.

How to Apply

Interested applicants must fill-up the online admission form. Submit the complete application form and necessary documents for consideration of your application for the scholarship through the online form. Incomplete documents or details won’t be entertained.

Supporting Documents

  • The applicant must attach the proof of being a U.S. citizen or permanent resident.
  • The applicant must submit an essay on organizing and planning skills for the State Department for 13 dimensions. The article should reflect the applicant’s qualifications, abilities, and qualities that will help them work in Foreign Service.
  • A letter of recommendation from your current college faculty members is needed. The message should be from a person who knows the applicant and their academic performance very well.
  • Student Aid Report should be attached with the application.
  • Submit documents from your college or university that shows financial help you received during your undergraduate course.
  • A personal statement should be attached to the application. This statement should include your financial situation, a family economic situation, and the applicant’s situation e.g., low-paid service, work during school, or any other financial obligations. The statement must not exceed 400-word counts.

Benefits

The selected applicant of the program will be awarded Graduate Science Education, Cumming School of Medicine, and Scholarships worth $10,000. This scholarship will help students pay their educational costs like tuition, books, or other related costs.

Application Deadline

Applications must be submitted before October 14, 2020, at 11:59 PM Eastern Time. Late applications will not be considered for the scholarship.
