PVRPD Activity Guide Cover Photo Contest

The Pleasant Valley Recreation and Park District is organizing the Activity Guide Cover Photo Contest and everyone is invited to participate. To participate, you are required to click a photograph in any of the 28 parks of the district. The image can feature you, your family, friends, or any individual enjoying the amenities at the park. The picture should be in a minimum of 300 dpi resolution and should be submitted in .pdf format. You are requested to include a testimonial with your image where you have to list the park, amenity, name of the person(s) in the photo, and what they liked about it. The contest is open from July 1, 2021, to July 31, 2021.

The contest is open to all amateur and professional photographers in the area. The PVRPD wants to see their parks through your eyes and is willing to know what is the best part about their parks that you like the most. The best photo will be the cover of their Activity Guide and the winner will get the exciting Dave and Buster’s Gift Basket. It is an opportunity for you to present your imagination from behind your lenses and let everyone know how do you see the world.

Pleasant Valley Recreation and Park District (PVRPD) is an independent special district, formed in January 1962 under the State Public Resource Code of California. The district is situated in and around the City of Camarillo and serves a population of around 70,000. It covers an approximate area of 45 square miles.

Who is Eligible?

No specific criterion has been announced for the participants. All amateur and professional photographers are eligible to participate in the contest.

How to Apply?

To participate in the Activity Guide Cover Photo contest, the candidates are required to submit a Photo-based on the following guidelines:

  • The photograph should feature you, your friends, or your family members enjoying at the Pleasant Valley Recreation and Park District.
  • Depict how parks make life better; this can be an image of a person participating in a class, playing a sport, enjoying playground equipment, exercising at the park, or anything related.
  • The photo size must be 8.5” × 11” in dimensions, in .jpg format, and a 300-dpi resolution.
  • Add a testimonial about the image captured in your photo.
  •  Submit your photograph here.


Participating in the photo contest will help you gain a more holistic insight in the field of photography. You’ll be able to analyze your surroundings with different perspectives from behind your lenses. Also, you will be able to get acquainted with the creativity of other photographers and get to know about the room for improvement required for you. The winning candidate will get an exciting gift basket from Dave and Buster.
