This position requires that the incumbent will report to the official work location and live within commuting distance of the official work location. Telecommuting may not be available. If telecommuting is available, the incumbent will be required to have a telephone/mobile device, and internet access.

Successful completion of the Public Health Essentials certificate program will be required.

Travel, over 50% of the time will be required. A valid driver’s license in good standing.

The incumbent(s) hired into this position must live within commuting distance to the official work location. The incumbent(s) who relocate to New York State (NYS) for this position will be required to obtain an NYS driver’s license. NYS requires new residents to obtain a license within 30 days of becoming a resident.

Who is Eligible?

Bachelor’s degree in Public Health, Epidemiology, a related Social Science, a related Natural Science or another related field; OR an Associate’s degree in a related field and two years of experience in a public health, human services, or health-related program/organization field; OR four years of such experience.

Experience in inspection of public water supply systems, and public water system compliance. Data entry experience. Experience in the evaluation of environmental health conditions and/or regulatory code compliance at regulated facilities to improve the health and safety of the public.
