The Charles Koch Institute has declared a fellowship as Poynter-Koch Media and Journalism for journalists and storytellers who are passionate about journalism and telling motivational and inspiring stories, who are hard-worker and self-motivated, and understand the importance of free expression and the role of media in society. These applicants can apply for the fellowship.
The applicants who will get selected will get a minimum stipend of $50,000 per fellow. With this, the fellow will get to discuss today’s most pressing journalist’s issues, study a world-class curriculum examining the crucial role of free expression and a free press in society, and so on. Overall, fellows will learn storytelling and career planning, submerge themselves in podcasting, analytics, graphic design, video producing, newsletter writing, media training, resume writing, having difficult conversations, and work-life chemistry. This program will help the applicant to learn more about journalism and the related factors, which will provide them with a better understanding of their career and work.

The applicants selected will get a lot of benefits from this fellowship program including, will get to learn and discuss today’s most pressing journalistic issues, study a world-class curriculum examining the crucial role of free expression and a free press in society, also will get to grasp from journalists working in the newsroom like The New York Times, NPR, Dallas Morning News, NBC, outlier and more, plus will be able to meet with their dedicated mentor in every 15 days which will focus on their professional development, and will get to participate in a capstone project where they can test their journalistic skills and abilities and to attend three multi-day journalism summits designed for fellowship.
With this, an applicant will be able to understand accurate reporting and storytelling which and how to deepen the ability and portfolio, and will be able to increase fluency in languages and execution strategy of audience engagement and will also get to understand different strategies of voice and which will help them to lead from anywhere. This fellowship will provide vast knowledge and experience under different fields, and circumstances; interacting with other journalists will increase and provide ways of working. Also, with this fellowship, a stipend of a max of $50,000 will be given to each fellow.
The applicants who fit into the eligibility criteria and want to apply for this fellowship should submit their entries no later than February 25, 2022.
