Pets Caught Reading Photo Contest

Do you want your pet to get featured? Go for this impressive Pets Caught Reading Photo Contest specially designed to put forth the photo of your pet on Instagram or Facebook and allow them to get featured. This is a unique contest held until now where the Essex Public Library is wishing to make pets get featured while reading books. This scholarship application process is straightforward, where the contested is supposed to provide the photo of his/ her pet while reading a book, in the best pose, and provided through e-mail.

This scholarship aims to attract more students towards reading and enhancing their knowledge by taking advantage of the library. They want to increase the students’ interest in reading and explore themselves by reading the enormous books available in the library. Their vision is to achieve an educated society where each child will be having a great interest in reading books. 

The Essex Public Library is a library that actively participates through various programs to encourage the students to come to the library and go through the different fictional, nonfictional, motivational or historical books available in the library and find out in which they are interested. The Pets Caught Reading Photo Contest is their little effort to encourage the students to come to the library. The award completely depends on the number of likes on the photo and the creativity used to capture the image by the contestant.

Who May Be Eligible

Go through the following eligibility Criteria:

  • The student should provide the complete application
  • The applicant must be having excellent skill in photography and reading
  • The candidate must provide a photo of the pet while the pet was reading the book
  • The candidate must be interested in an extracurricular activity
  • The candidate should provide original photo no copyrights will be eligible
  • The fellow must be a legal US resident

How to Apply

The candidate should provide the complete application accompanied with the required documents and the photo. The applicant must provide an attractive picture of their pet “reading a book” by e-mail to pets@eplva.org. The Library visitors and social media followers will vote on a pet to become the *official* Tails & Tales Summer Learning Program mascot. The submission must be made before the deadline as the late submission will not be eligible for the contest.

Below mentioned documents need to be provided by the applicant to get eligible for the reward of the contest:

  • The fellow should provide the complete application
  • The candidate must provide a photo of the pet while reading a book
  • The fellow must provide all the demographic information in the application, including the e-mail, and other required information
