Pedro Zamora Young Leaders Scholarship is a funding program offered by the National AIDS Memorial to support young activists and students. The scholarships are timely organized to provide the required support to activist movements related to HIV/AIDS. The organization has a belief that young leaders and activists (students) just like Pedro Zamora are going to bring positive changes in the society and the country as a whole so, this scholarship program is aimed to provide full support to them.
The students of High School (seniors), first-year in college, sophomores, and juniors (below the age of 27) can benefit from this scholarship program. Students who are really interested in HIV/AIDS campaigns and movements, and are hoping to change the lives of people including the younger generation through their activist approaches are welcome to participate in the program.
The Scholarship is named after Pedro Zamora, the 17-years old activist who on discovering he is HIV positive dedicated his life to become an active HIV/AIDS advocate and educator throughout his span of life. Pedro helped save thousands of lives by spreading awareness of the mortal disease. The National AIDS Memorial is an institution that arranges various workshops, meetings, and informative events to raise awareness and educate people about HIV/ AIDS. This institution hopes to build an AIDS-free future for the generations to come through their selfless works, and engagements with the younger generation to pass on the responsibility to them.
