Who May Be Eligible

  • The fellow must be enrolled in a degree-seeking program at an eligible S.C. institution.

  • The applicant must be involved in an extracurricular activity or community service.

Eligibility Requirements for Entering Freshman:

The applicant must meet all general eligibility requirements.

Candidate needs meet two of the three requirements from the below-listed requirements:

The candidate should provide a 3.00 final high school grade point average. 

The fellow must have received a minimum SAT score of 1100 on critical reading and math sections or an ACT score of 24.

The candidate must have graduated in the top 30 percent of their high school graduating class.

Eligibility Requirements for Transfer Students

The fellow must meet all general eligibility requirements.

The applicant’s eligibility for the LIFE Scholarship during their first year at the University of South Carolina is based on their initial college enrollment and all non-remedial hours earned, and cumulative grade point average at their previous institution(s).

Eligibility Requirements for Continuing Students:

The candidate must meet all general eligibility requirements.

Along with maintaining applicants’ in-state residency, continuing students must also meet additional renewal requirements, including their GPA and how many credit hours they earn each academic term.
