Offutt Enlisted Spouses Club $6000 Scholarship

Every year, the Offutt Enlisted Spouses Club grants college scholarships to graduating seniors and life partners dependent on deployment-ready, resigned, or perished military staff. Beneficiaries can be subsidiary with any tactical position or branch yet live in Cass, Sarpy, or Douglas regions in Nebraska or Mills and Pottawattamie regions in Iowa. The 2022 grant cutoff time will be April 8, 2022. This program isn’t restricted to those engaged with the OESC. The OESC Scholarship Committee Selection Panel will decide the honored beneficiary dependent on current academic accomplishment, and an article clarifying why the candidate is seeking after additional training and how they accept further instruction will be of individual advantage later on.

The OESC started the grant program in 1972. The Offutt Enlisted Spouses’ Club (OESC) will grant no less than one life partner grant, and for high school seniors, the Offutt Enlisted Spouses’ Club (OESC) will give a few gifts to qualified candidates. In the case of spouses, in order to be eligible, the candidate should be presently enrolled at an authorized program of study. As for high school seniors, to be eligible for this grant, the candidate should be a possibility for graduation from high school in 2022. Past OESC Scholarship beneficiaries are not qualified.

The Offutt Enlisted Spouses Club, a 501(c)3 non-benefit association, is a private association based at Offutt Air Force Base, Nebraska. Their mission is to support spouses through volunteerism and kinship, to help spouses and serve their tactical community and community at large through beneficent, instructive, and sporting means.

Who is Eligible?

The eligibility criteria for the following scholarship is as follows:

For high school seniors:

  • Applicant must be a candidate for graduation from high school in 2022.
  • Applicant must be a military dependent (officer or enlisted: active duty, retired, or deceased) or a dependent of a military member assigned to a local military unit assigned to Offutt Air Force Base. Must reside in Cass, Sarpy, Douglas Counties in Nebraska or Mills and Pottawattamie Counties in Iowa.
  • Acceptance of a military academy appointment, any full scholarship*, or another spouses’ club scholarship, before or after selection as a recipient of an OESC Scholarship, will automatically terminate consideration for entitlement to an OESC scholarship. In such an event, that scholarship will be awarded to an alternate in order of merit. * The OESC policy defines a full scholarship as having a student’s tuition, room, and board paid.
  • Children/Step-children or spouses of any OESC Scholarship Committee or Selection Panel member are not eligible for a scholarship in the year that person serves.
  • Previous OESC Scholarship recipients are not eligible.

For spouses:

  • Applicant must be currently enrolled in an accredited program of study.
  • Applicant must be a military spouse (officer or enlisted: active duty, retired, or deceased) in Cass, Sarpy, or Douglas counties in Nebraska or Mills and Pottawattamie counties in Iowa.
  • Acceptance of any full scholarship*, or another spouses club scholarship, before or after selection as a recipient of an OESC Spouse Scholarship, will automatically terminate consideration for entitlement to an OESC scholarship. In such an event, that scholarship will be awarded to an alternate in order of merit. *The OESC policy defines a full scholarship as having a student’s tuition, room, and board paid.
  • Previous recipients of the OESC Spouse Scholarship are not eligible for consideration. 
  • Children/Step-children or spouses of any OESC Scholarship committee or Selection Panel member are not eligible for a scholarship in the year that person serves.

How to Apply?

All eligible candidates can apply for this scholarship by following the below-mentioned procedure:

For spouses:

  • Applicants must submit the following materials:
  1. Official transcript(s) and GPA of all course work pertaining to the current area of study
  2. Completed, legible application form
  3. A 2 page, double-spaced, 12-font essay (additional pages will not be considered) on:
  • Why you are pursuing further education and
  • How do you believe further education will be of personal benefit in the future

For high school seniors:

  • Applicants must submit the following materials:
  1. One official transcript including the most recent seven semesters of high school work
  2. Current ACT or SAT Scores c. Completed legible application form.
  3. A 2-page (additional pages will not be considered) double spaced, 12 font resume of education and community involvement including:
  • Chronological list of schools attended in grades 9-12 
  • Activities in school and community
  • Honors and/or awards received
  • Employment record (no letters of reference)
  • Intended major or field of study
  • A 300-word essay describing how being a military dependent has helped to prepare you for college.

Benefits

A different scholarship selection panel will be appointed for both the scholarships, and they will select the best and most qualified applicants to receive the award. The winners will be awarded by September 15, 2022, and will receive a grant worth $6,000.
