Oar’s Youth Art Contest is currently open and calling young artists from around the country. This fantastic art competition was designed by the Organization for Autism Research with the motive of encouraging artistic talent in youngsters and raising awareness regarding autism in people. For this year, the organization has selected an excellent theme for this contest, which is “Friendship .”Organization for Autism Research is eager to see what friendship means to children and how they perceive this term through this competition. This program is also an opportunity for young artists to showcase their skills and share their stories about friendship in an abstract or literal sense as they would like.
Oar’s Youth Art Contest accepts applications from autistic children and their siblings, relatives, and friends. This program holds two categories: Autistic youth & Siblings, relatives, and friends of autistic individuals. Contestants must be eight and under, 9 to 13, and 14 and older. The winners for this program will be declared at the beginning of National Autism Awareness Month in April and subsequently feature them on that month’s donation E-cards. This contest will give all winners and honorable mentions a chance to be featured in a unique OAR calendar, holiday ornament, or other featured items. All artwork will be accepted online in jpg, png, or pdf format. Please make sure that your application must involve the digital artwork, artist’s name, contact information, project title, and a brief description of the artwork.
In December 2001, OAR was created by seven people whose lives and families had been directly affected by autism. They shared a common goal and set out on a solitary mission: to use research to answer the daily concerns and issues that autism poses to autistic people, their families, teachers, and caretakers.
