Practical students are picking up on the fact that nurses are in high demand. Attending nursing school will pay off handsomely: Registered nursing is expected to be the second most common emerging occupation for students around the country, according to government data (as well as for those who bring their experience from abroad). And the situation is just getting better: As the median age of nurses rises, nursing jobs are projected to grow at an above-average pace until 2014. It’s no surprise that a career where scrubs and exercise shoes are the standard can’t go wrong…just ask those practising medicine!
Many organisations have provided nursing scholarship programmes to help students obtain their degrees, which is fortunate for students interested in nursing. There are hospitals that pay a portion of employee tuition, and agencies such as the United States Department of Health and Human Services Health Resources and Services Administration offer a slew of scholarships and grants, as well as federal student financial assistance programmes, to help prospective nurses finish their studies. Nursing students have a plethora of financial aid options. Simply look for what you’re looking for and you’ll find it.
If you want to pursue a career in nursing but lack the financial means to do so? Fortunately, there are several grants available to assist qualified nurses in achieving their goals. And do you also happen to be from North Carolina? Then you are in for a treat. The North Carolina Foundation for Nursing is pleased to provide many scholarships to nurses and nursing students.
Here is a concise list of 10 scholarships to get you started.
