The New Minowa Players is offering an enormous scholarship program for the current year 2020. The award is open for students who are graduating from a high school or intended to attend a college or vocational school within the area of Decorah.
The organizations rewarded the grants annually to assist outstanding students. The recipients are provided with a sufficient amount to overcome their financial barriers, which stops them from attaining higher and quality education.
New Minowa Players is an incredibly active community theatre founded in 1975. It is based in Decorah and has presented over 120 straight plays, musicals, reviews, cabarets and melodramas in a variety of locations.

Who May Eligible?
To eligible, the students must be following the full eligibility requirements:
- Must be students graduating from a high school within 30 miles of Decorah. This is extended to home-schooled students in the same region.
- Must be planning to attend an accredited college or vocational school.
- The major criteria for choosing the winner is the student’s involvement in drama and related areas and the intent to continue that involvement, in some way, following high school graduation.
- Preference will be given to students who have been or are presently active in New Minowa Players.
How to Apply
The student can provide their required supplemental documentation either through an online application form or via mail to New Minowa Players P.O. Box 321, Decorah, IA 52101.
Supporting Documents
- Must submit a short essay of one page explaining how their experience in theatre has contributed to their lives.
Benefits
The New Minowa Players Scholarships winner will be rewarded with an award amount of $200. The funds are to be used for any kind of educational purposes.
Application Deadline
The eligible students are advised to submit their applications by 11:59 p.m. on June 19, 2020.
