Eligibility Criteria

To be eligible for this prestigious scholarship, applicants must meet the following criteria:

  • Child or grandchild of a current North Dakota county employee or county official.
  • Will be registered as a full-time undergraduate student in an accredited North Dakota university, college, or vocational/technical certification program.
  • Previous NDACo Scholarship winners may not apply.

Scholarship Details

The NDACo Scholarship Fund places emphasis on various aspects, prioritizing them in the following order:

  1. Leadership, Volunteerism
  2. Honors, Awards
  3. Personal Statement and Essay
  4. Academic Achievement

Application Process

Required Materials:

  • Completed and signed application form.
  • Resume or listing of work experience, volunteerism, awards/recognition, etc.
  • Two (2) letters of recommendation, dated within the past 12 months.
  • Personal statement about academic goals and expectations (limit 300 words).
  • Essay answering the question, “How has your parent’s/grandparent’s experience in county government helped shape who you are?” (limit 300 words).
  • Official transcript from the most recently attended high school or college.

Deadline: All materials must be postmarked no later than Friday, May 24, 2024.

It is recommended to submit all materials in one package. If letters or transcripts are sent separately, ensure they are received by the deadline.

  • Application Deadline: Friday, May 24, 2024.
  • NDACo Annual Conference and Expo: Recognition of scholarship recipients in Bismarck in October.
