National Medical Fellowships’ Scholarship

National Medical Fellowships, Inc. is assisting a large number of students through its Scholarships and awards program. The grants are available for the applicants with a valid U.S. citizenship and who are also currently enrolled in an accredited, graduate-level U.S. healthcare program.

The purpose of the program is to support the underrepresented minority student to let them acquire a better education standard and accomplish their goals. The foundation will provide several rewards to scholars for their further studies related expenses such as tuition, fees, etc.

National Medical Fellowships, Inc. is a nonprofit organization in the United States that provides scholarships and support for underrepresented minority students in medicine and the health professions. It was founded in 1946 and has provided over $40 million to upward of 30,000 minority community members.

Who May Be Eligible?

Below are some necessary requirements for all the scholarship programs:

  • Applicants must have valid citizenship of the United States
  • Students must be currently enrolled in an accredited, graduate-level U.S. healthcare program
  • The Drs. Ludlow & Ruth Creary Family Foundation Scholarship is open to students in their 2nd year of undergraduate studies
  • The Genita Evangelista Johnson Endowed Scholarship is open to students in their senior year of high school
  • The Dr. Muriel Petioni Scholarship is open to both medical students and students graduating from college/post-baccalaureate program
  • Candidates must be an underrepresented minority student
  • NMF designates the following racial/ethnic groups as underrepresented minorities: African American/Black, Hispanic/Latino, Native Americans (American Indian/Alaska Native/Native Hawaiian), Asian American (Vietnamese and Cambodian only), and Pacific Islander.
  • Must demonstrate leadership ability
  • Must have a commitment to serving medically underserved communities
  • Permanent Residents/Green Card Holders are not eligible

  • Must provide proof of U.S. citizenship or Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA) approval letter
