National Leased Housing Association Education Fund

NLHA has announced different scholarships for the year 2022. The Education Fund will provide the eligible applicants living in privately owned Government aided housing or the members of Section 8. This education fund has been made possible by seeking donations from providers of affordable housing, vendors, and brokers. The fund has four types of scholarships. The participants who are eligible for their respective criteria will be given the education fund. The applicants with low income will get helped by this scholarship program, Air Cares Community Scholarship provided, Bill Gandert Memorial Scholarship will help pursue further studies if the candidate is merit and is a high school senior or returning student, Mary Lou Manzie Memorial Scholarship is for the non-traditional student who is merit and wants to get higher education, Neil Churchill Memorial Scholarship will help to seek graduate courses.

The applicants will receive the amount directly at their institution for the assistance of books, tuition fees, other educational charges depending on their requirements. The number of funds will be based on the donation received, probably $500 to $3500. The fund will help applicants to pursue their further education without financial obstacles.

National Leased Housing Association decided to provide education funds in 2007. Raising funds was made possible by the donors. The primary purpose of forming the scholarship program is to provide funds to the residents that are living in government-aided rental houses with low family income so that the child living in such situations also be able to pursue their higher education.

Who is Eligible?

  • Residents of privately owned government-aided low-income housing properties (section 8, low-income house credits, etc.)
  • Section 8 recipients, who receive voucher assistance that determines both merits and needy.

Benefits

The applicant can get the scholarship benefits only if they are applicable. The applicant will be awarded a scholarship probably worth $500 to $3000, dependent on the no. of donations sought by NHLA.  The student will get paid directly to the institution for tuition fees, books, and other educational fees required by their university. The awards will be directly paid to the institution and not the applicant. The candidate should be able to pursue their further education without financial problems. So they can select the field of education they want to make their future with.

Application Deadline

The students who passed the eligibility criteria for the respective scholarship should submit their application form on time and before the date expires. The deadline has been set till April 15, 2022, at 5:00. Eligible and interested students should check out the details and fill the form before the deadline. If any applicant crosses the timeline, their application will not get accepted.
