This award is established to encourage the youth as the upcoming generation of family historians and help students to develop their career in the related fields.
The National Genealogical Society was formed in Washington, DC, in 1903. It has a long history of leading the way in genealogy and produced some remarkable achievements. NGS was the first national genealogical organization.

Benefits
The award winner will receive up to $500 cash prize, a plaque, and a one-year NGS membership. The awards may be provided annually to a student in either the junior category (grades 6-8) or senior category (grades 9-12) for an appropriately prepared genealogy.
