NASA Postdoctoral Fellowship for the US and International Scientists

Applications are open for both the U.S. and international candidates who hold a PhD degree or equivalent.

All the selected candidates will get a chance to work on 1 to 3-year assignments with NASA scientists and engineers at NASA centres and institutes.

Who May Be Eligible?

All the entrants are required to meet the given eligibility criteria:

  • Candidates must have a PhD or equivalent degree in hand before beginning the fellowship
  • Applicants must be U.S. citizens, Lawful Permanent Residents, and foreign nationals eligible for J-1 status as a research scholar.

How to Apply

To apply for this programme, applicants can register through NASA’s applicant portal. The portal will guide aspirants through the application process. All candidates will have to provide their contact information, citizenship, demographic information, employment, publication, education, and research experience.

Supporting Documents

Applicants will need to send the following documents with their application:

  • Three letters of recommendation
  • If candidates are applying as a postdoctoral fellow, then original transcripts must be sent by their university
  • Research proposal addressing the goals and objectives described in the research opportunity

Benefits

The winner of this programme will enjoy a stipend starting at $60,000 per year, with supplements for high cost-of-living areas and certain academic specialities. Besides, they will also be provided with financial aid for relocation and subsidized health insurance and $10,000 per year for professional and programmatic travel.
