National Association of Institutions for Military Education Services (NAIMES) is delighted to announce NAIMES Student Spotlight Award. Active duty personnel, veterans, and active duty military spouses from all service branches are invited to submit an application.
The Student Spotlight Award is an opportunity for students to demonstrate their academic achievement to the military and civilian educational community through an exploration of how the academic experience has influenced their military career.
The Purpose of the award is to celebrate academic achievements of military students in the Armed Forces Voluntary Education programs. Participation in the award provides students with opportunities to gain valuable experience in both oral and written presentations of their work.

Who May Eligible:
To eligible, the candidates must be following all the eligibility criteria:
- Active duty personnel, veterans, and active duty military spouses from all service branches are invited to submit an application.
- ROTC students and military academy students are not eligible to apply.
- Students must be current students seeking an undergraduate or graduate degree.
How to Apply & Competitions Rules:
To participate, the applicants must submit an application online form through the given link: http://naimes.org/student-spotlight-award/
Rules:
- ROTC students and military academy students are not eligible to apply.
- There should be one application submission only.
- Incomplete applications will not be considered.
- Themes for the 2018 Student Spotlight Awards:
- For Service Members: “What influence does your military career have on the educational pathways you selected and on the pursuit of your degree?”
- For Spouses: “What difficulties have you experienced as a military spouse in choosing your educational pathway and pursuing your education?
- For Veterans: “How has your military experience shaped the selection of your education major and pathway you selected for your college degree?

- Photo (include a current headshot photo of yourself)
- Veterans Only: A copy of your DD Form 214 Certificate of Release or Discharge from Active Duty.
Benefits:
- MBS Direct, LLC is a proud co-sponsor of this award program. A $1,200 cash prize will be awarded to the top project in five categories: 1) Undergraduate student with less than 60 credits earned, 2) Undergraduate student with 60 or more credits, 3) Graduate student, 4) Veteran, and 5) Active duty military spouse.
- In addition, travel funds, not to exceed $500, will be available to allow recipients to receive their award at the annual Council of College and Military Educators Symposium.
