Stark Soil and Water Conservation District is proud to announce their annual contest ‘NACD 2021 poster contest’ for bringing the attention of teachers and students to the preservation of natural resources. The main objective of this poster contest is to let the audience become motivated in the development of sustainable development of resources and nature. The posters will highlight the issues of resource degradation and measures will move as a medium of awareness among the public. This is useful in encouraging citizens to protect natural recourses for the present and the future generation. Students belonging to class KG to class 12 can make posters for this contest. The involvement of youths in the contest shows how important it is to get our present young generation to get involved in such occasions.
The contest is useful in securing the environment and atmosphere with the preservation of natural recourses. The posters made for the contest by the candidates will stand as a motivation for the audiences to keep preserving resources and using them in a better possible way. The theme of the poster contest this year is “Healthy Forests, Healthy Communities”. Every year such contest of different concept helps the societies to understand more about their environment. The candidates will be awarded according to the categories they are divide on the basis of age. The winners will get the chance to compete in the national level contest as well.
Stark Soil and Water Conservation District is decimated towards the conversation of recourses. They make it happen through the implementation of education, guidance, and awareness regarding the conservation of natural resources for the people of the stark country. They have various categories under them such as drainage, agriculture, forestry and wildlife, educational programs, stormwater, etc. to enhance the awareness of resources among the public. Every year they organize several contests of different themes for highlighting major issues faced by the country related to natural resources.

Who may be Eligible?
Students who want to apply for the contest must belong to the standard of kg to class 12th for being eligible. There are no restrictions regarding the domain of school, therefore, all the public, private, home school, and autonomous bodies of school students under the k-12 standard are eligible for the contest. The students who will be submitting their posters should make posters individually and not through teamwork.
How to apply?
The candidates can apply through the online portal. First of all the candidates can send the posters to Stark SWCD, where each of the winners will be awarded according to the age category. Later the winners can also apply for the NACD that is the national level contest and prizes.
Interested and eligible candidate can submit their posters via email meliggett@starkcountyohio.gov or apply through the website of SWCD Stark Soil and Water Conservation District before May 27, 2022.
Rules
- Any media can be used on a 14”x22”.
- Only digital posters
- The theme “Healthy Forest, Healthy Communities” must be included on the front side of each poster.
- A signed and legible entry form must be submitted with each poster.
Benefits
This contest will bring advancement in media-based learning and resource conservation. The winners of the contest will get the chance to apply for the national level contest and win remarkable positions and prizes.
Application Deadline
The applications will be closed by May 27, 2022. Therefore, those who are interested in the winners will be announced during NACD’s 75th annual meeting in February.
