The Minnesota Women Lawyers Foundation is delighted to announce that they are accepting applicants for its 2021 MWL Foundation Law Student Scholarship. This scholarship is made possible through the generous donations of MWL members, supporters, and friends. The primary goal of the MWL Foundation Law Student Scholarship is to provide aid to students attending a Minnesota law school who demonstrate an interest in furthering the mission of Minnesota Women Lawyers, “to advance the success of women lawyers and strive for a just society.”All law students are welcome to apply for the following Scholarship. The submission deadline for the same is Friday, October 1, 2021.
To be eligible for the Minnesota Women Lawyers Foundation Law Student Scholarship, the students must be currently attending a Minnesota law school and in good academic standing and must demonstrate a commitment to the advancement of women in the legal profession and/or women’s issues. Preference will be given to students who exhibit support and motivation for the mission of MWL through participation with MWL or other groups with a similar mission. One most deserving student will be awarded the scholarship for $2,500. The recipient of the Scholarship is allowed to use the award for educational purposes only.
Incorporated in 2014, the Minnesota Women Lawyers Foundation is a 501(c)(3) charitable nonprofit organization created to support the charitable activities of Minnesota Women Lawyers and its efforts to advance the success of women attorneys and strive for a just society. Donations are tax-deductible as charitable contributions to the extent allowed by law. The MWL Foundation also supports scholarships for students attending a Minnesota law school who demonstrate an interest in furthering the mission of Minnesota Women Lawyers.

Who is Eligible?
Following are the eligibility requirements for the following scholarship contest:
- Students must be currently attending a Minnesota law school and in good academic standing;
- Students must demonstrate a commitment to the advancement of women in the legal profession and/or women’s issues;
- Preference given to students who exhibit support and motivation for the mission of MWL through participation with MWL or other groups with a similar mission.
- Full and part-time students are eligible.
- Previous scholarship recipients remain eligible. However, preference is given to new recipients.
How to Apply?
The interested individuals are required to fill out the application form given on the scholarship portal and submit it there only. Additionally, the candidates are required to submit an essay on the following:
How can an organization like Minnesota Women Lawyers remain relevant to members and potential members given the changing legal and social landscape? (no longer than two pages in length);

The applications submitted by you will be reviewed and judged by the selection committee and out of all, the most deserving candidate will be selected as the winner of the following scholarship. The winner will be awarded a one-time scholarship amount of up to $2,500.
