Minnesota Association of Counselors of Color is very excited to make possible its wonderful funding schemes called Student of Color Scholarships. These funds were established by this organization to help students of colour pursuing higher education in their chosen field of study. All eligible participants will win the one-time award that they can use toward their education during the academic year of 2021-2022. To be eligible to compete for these programs, you need to identify yourself as a student of colour graduating from a Minnesota high school.
The purpose of MnACC behind offering such awards is to make higher education accessible and affordable for students of colour who have been unrepresented in higher education. By providing these offers, the foundation wants to create equal opportunities, especially for those students of colour. This foundation believes that every student should have access to the educational and career opportunities to succeed in their career, and no one should be deprived of accessing higher education just because of their skin colour. Ultimately, these funds will contribute to the personal growth of students.
Minnesota Association of Counselors of Color was founded in 1991 and is a noncompetitive post-secondary collaborative organization. It has been dedicated to improving access to higher education for Minnesota’s students of colour.
