Mississippi Tuition Assistance Grant

Apply today for the precious Mississippi Tuition Assistance Grant organized by the Mississippi Legislature. The program is cordially inviting applicants who are a legal resident of the State of Mississippi and also graduate students from high school.

The focus of the award is to provide educational opportunities for students who wish to pursue post-secondary education in the state and do not already benefit from federal need-based aid. The funds will act as a great supporter in covering up various studies related expenses.

The State of Mississippi works to provide over $40 million each year to help Mississippi residents students go to college. It also helps you to research public university, private college, and community college options in Mississippi and choose the one that is right for you.

Who May Be Eligible?

To eligible, the candidates must be following all the eligibility criteria:

  • Applicants must be a legal resident of the State of Mississippi for one year before the application
  • Must be graduate students from high school
  • Must have a cumulative grade point average (GPA) of 2.5 on a 4.0 scale or earn a high school equivalency diploma (submit a copy of GED or equivalent test scores and GED or equivalent certificate) or complete a Home School program (submit a signed transcript of 9th through 12th grades)
  • Must have scored a minimum of a 15 on the National ACT
  • Must enroll full-time at an approved postsecondary institution in Mississippi in a program of study leading to a first certificate, first associate’s, or first bachelor’s degree
  • Must be eligible for less than the full Federal Pell Grant as determined by completion of the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA).
  • Must enroll full-time and maintain full-time enrollment each semester. Full-time enrollment is 15 hours per semester or 9 hours per trimester.

How to Apply

Eligible candidates are required to log in to submit their application for the scholarship program. Benefits

MTAG is rewarding up to $500 scholarship award per academic year for first-year students and sophomores and a $1,000 grant per academic year for juniors and seniors. The recipients will get help to pay for their high-cost expenses related to their courses and college.
