As part of Michigan Auto Law’s commitment to promote diversity, they are pleased to announce that they are sponsoring an annual scholarship program that aims at providing financial aid to students who add diversity to their law school body, in their journey to pursue their legal careers. This opportunity will help provide financial aid to law students to not just reduce the financial burden of their cost of education but also motivate them to pursue their careers with a newfound rigour. Applications are now open for the Fall 2021 intake, to any student who is either about the start or is in their first or second year of law school. So, if you are a student who is currently enrolled in any course at the university and are passionate about bringing justice to any and all, this is an opportunity for you.
The “Diversity Scholarship” which is an initiative of the “Michigan Auto Law Scholarship Program” is a significant effort to increase and catalyse diversity in law schools. The future lawyers in the making not just frame how our justice system is going to work, but having a lack of diversity will deprive any case of the kind of diverse perspectives people from different cultural backgrounds and walks and talks of life can bring to the table. Thus in order to bring about this bigger change, it is essential that we start at the grassroots level – the pa=lace where every capable lawyer begins his journey – at law schools. Who May Be Eligible
Students who are in their first or second year of law school, as well as those who are starting law school in fall 2021, are eligible to apply. The student should either belong to a racial or ethnic minority community or demonstrate significant interest and contribution to promote diversity during their careers. The recipient must also be a US citizen who is accepted to or attending an accredited law school in the US. The applicant is also required to have an undergraduate cumulative minimum 3.0 GPA.

Supporting Documents
- Application Form: A completed application form must be submitted. You can click here to download the application form pdf.
- Transcripts: An unofficial copy of your academic transcripts which includes your name and the name of your college must be submitted.
- Essay: A typed essay not exceeding 3 pages, must be submitted explaining how you have encouraged greater racial or ethnic diversity within the student body of your law school and/or undergraduate program
Note
If you are entering law school in Fall 2021, then you will have to submit an unofficial transcript from your undergraduate college, along with a copy of your acceptance letter to law school as well
Benefits
The scholarship will provide the chosen candidate with an amount of $2,000. This amount is directly paid to the winning student and can be used for education-related expenses such as tuition, book, activity and other such fees. This will help the students to take care of their education expenses and motivate them to continue their studies more passionately.
