The students indulged in a study of optical design are having a chance to apply for the currently running Michael Kidger Memorial Scholarship. The program is conducted by the SPIE international society for optics and photonics.
The award will play a vital role in the student’s higher education. The recipients will get to cover various expenses related to studies and accomplish their goals without any barriers coming across the way.
SPIE, the international society for optics and photonics, was founded in 1955 to advance light-based technologies. It serves in more than 255,000 constituents from 183 countries all around. They also provided $5 million in support of education and outreach programs.
Who May Eligible?
Candidates are required to follow the criteria to be applicable for the scholarship:
- Must be a student of optical design which should include lens design, illumination design and computational optical design.
- Must meet the criteria of entry for the chosen course of study or research.
- Must have at least one year after the award to completion of their chosen course of study.

- Must submit a summary of maximum five pages stating academic background and interest in pursuing training or research in optical design.
