Who May Be Eligible?

Here are the eligibility requirements set by the college to be eligible:

  • The applicant must be a graduating senior from one of the 27 public high schools in the MCC in-district service area.
  • The applicant must demonstrate college readiness.
  • Fellows must be admitted to MCC as a regular degree or certificate-seeking student.
  • Candidates must be a U.S. citizen or permanent resident.

Supporting Documents

  • Official High School Transcript, submit an Essay: The U.S. Department of Education defines college and career readiness as having the knowledge and skills needed for success after high school, either in further education or in a job. This short essay describes how you’ve prepared yourself for college readiness and why you feel that you should be selected for the MCC Wolves Scholarship.
  • Counsellor Verification Form by the high school counsellor.
  • One recommendation per high the school will be accepted.

Benefits

Selected students will enjoy multiple benefits. Fellows will be awarded the amount of up to $1500. Must be used for the Fall ($750) and Spring ($750) semesters immediately following the student high school graduation.  Scholarship funds can be used for tuition, fees, and educationally related books and supplies. Funds are non-refundable and non-renewable. Funds are applied before Federal Grants (Pell and SEOG) and after all other non-loan funding.
