Are you a female or non-binary student of Black African descent? If yes, then here is a brilliant chance for you! Female or nonbinary students accepted and enrolled to attend at any UNCF member institution other HBCU in the United States or Canada are eligible to apply for this scholarship. The fellow must have a demonstrated unmet financial need as verified by their college or University for the United States. Candidates should be a citizen or Permanent resident of the United States or Canada.

The scholarship aims to support deserving students and empower underrepresented students with financial support. In support of the educational goals of female and non-binary students of African descent, Mejuri is proud to launch the Mejuri Scholarship Program. It provides considerable financial assistance to the candidates and is highly determined towards the progress of non-binary students. The access for this scholarship has been kept accessible so that multiple candidates can apply to this program.

Who May Be Eligible?

Go through the eligibility requirements before applying for the scholarship:

  • The fellow should be a citizen or permanent resident of the U.S. or Canada.
  • Applicants should have a demonstrated, unmet financial need as verified by their college or university for U.S. students or by their regional organization of financial assistance for Canadian students.
  • The fellow should be a female or non-binary student of Black African descent who has been accepted and enrolled to attend at any UNCF member institution, other HBCU, or an accredited two, three, or four-year institution in the U.S. or Canada.

How to Apply

Only the eligible candidates should begin with the application process.  The fellows should adequately provide all the required details and the materials. The firm will not entertain late or incomplete documents. All the supporting materials should be provided as per the guidelines. Invalid data or materials will not be considered.

Supporting Documents

  • Students must complete a Free Application for Federal Student Aid (“FAFSA”) form, and Canadian students must complete an application for Provincial Grants, Bursaries, and Student Loans with their province or territory.
  • A fully completed application form should be submitted.


Ten students will be selected to award this scholarship of amount $5000. These scholarships should be utilized to pay the educational expenses of the student and provides considerable financial support. The amount should be used to pay tuition, fees, books, or other verified costs. It motives the candidates to perform excellently in their academics and makes it possible for them to complete their education free of worries.
