Mayor’s Committee Scholarship for High School Seniors

Serving college with a good academic can be difficult. Students with disabilities face more obstacles than other students. To help disable students, Greensboro, North Carolina, has started the Mayor’s Committee scholarship. The scholarship is named in memory of Stephen L. Knier. This scholarship will surely reduce the financial stress on the students. This scholarship will be for students enrolling in continuing education opportunities, trade school, community college, college or university.

The Mayor’s Committee for Persons with Disabilities is a nonprofit merge of businesses, human service agencies, and individuals of all abilities. This committee, with the mission to design a barrier-free community. The scholarship is created in the memory of Stephen L. Knier, former executive director of LIFESPAN Inc. Stephen L. Knier is a long-time member of the Mayor’s Committee and community advocate for persons with disabilities.
