Maryland Municipal League Undergraduate and Graduate Scholarship

Fellows thinking to enrol in college or university should forget about their financial burden! Because the Maryland Municipal League is passionate about solving students’ economic issues. The Maryland Municipal League is welcoming students to apply for their worthy scholarships. Fellows must be graduate or undergraduate student having a good academic standing. Students must be a resident of one of the following eight incorporated municipalities in Carroll County. These are the eight municipalities: Hampstead, Manchester, Mt. Airy, New Windsor, Sykesville, Taneytown, Union Bridge, and Westminster. These scholarships will be provided to students with good academic standing. With the help of the scholarship fund, students can easily pay their educational bills.

The Maryland Municipal League knows that students experience financial stress to complete their education and provide them with it. The organization has initiated these scholarships. The organization is desperate to free the students from the financial burden. These programs free candidates from their financial pressure. These scholarships motivate students to do better in their careers. The easy to access process is here to reduce the burden of your expenses.

The Maryland Municipal League is created for the development of Maryland and the residents. The directors at the league are working towards creating various initiatives for building a progressive Maryland. The league is passionate about making education easy to access for all the students of Maryland and mainly the Hampstead, Manchester, Mt. Airy, New Windsor, Sykesville, Taneytown, Union Bridge, and Westminster areas.

Who May Be Eligible

Some mandatory eligibility requirements are mentioned below:

  • Applicants must be a resident of one of the eight incorporated municipalities in Carroll County.
  • Students must have acceptance into or current enrollment in an accredited College / University for a Graduate or Undergraduate program.

How to Apply 

Interested applicants must submit their application and other documents offline through the mail. Mail should be postmarked before the deadline to be considered for the scholarship. Students can mail their application to the following address:

Supporting Documents 

  • Students must provide an essay on the topics provided below
  1. Identify the challenges faced by your Mayor and Council.
  2. Select one or more of these challenges and explain how you would address the challenge if you were the Mayor or a Council Member.
  3. Explain how you would disseminate your decision to address the challenge(s) to the citizens of your municipality
  • Applicants must provide their recent official transcript with the application.
  • One letter of recommendation must be attached with the application. This letter must be from any faculty member who knows about the applicant’s career goals and interests.

Benefits 

The Carroll County Chapter of the Maryland Municipal League will offer three students $1,000 scholarships. These scholarships will help students with their educational expenses. Scholarships provide financial assistance to the students in need. These scholarships reduce the financial stress of the students and help them do better in their careers.

Applications are currently open. To be a scholarship participant, students must submit their application and supporting documents before Friday, May 7, 2021.
