Marshall University Scholarships for Undergraduates

The Collegiate Recovery Community is a community of like-minded individuals whose goal is to improve themselves and their lives through positive change and holistic well-being. Given that, CRC in partnership with Marshall University brings to you a Marshall University Collegiate Recovery Community Scholarship program for the fall semester of 2021. The following scholarship is for the students who are actively pursuing recovery and enrolled as part-time or full-time Marshall University Student. The applicant must willing to participate in the Marshall University Collegiate Recovery Community, which includes meeting once a month with a MU CRC Peer Recovery Coach, attending two CRC seminars and groups a month, and attending one special CRC event during the semester.

The primary purpose behind the Marshall University Collegiate Recovery Community (CRC) scholarship program is to provide a supportive community to students where students in recovery, can achieve academic success. To assist more students in recovery in educational attainment, the Marshall University CRC has Recovery Scholarship opportunities available. These scholarships grant two students with the award amount of $200 and two students with $500. The selection committee comprised of the Marshall University Collegiate Recovery Advisory Board will review and select the final recipients of the scholarship. The deadline for the application submission is September 10, 2021.

Who is Eligible?

Following are the eligibility requirements for the following scholarship contest:

  • Be actively pursuing recovery;
  • Be enrolled as a part-time or full-time Marshall University Student; and
  • Participate in the Marshall University Collegiate Recovery Community, which includes meeting once a month with a MU CRC Peer Recovery Coach, attending two CRC seminars/groups a month, and attending one special CRC event during the semester.

How to Apply?

The interested individuals are required to submit the application form given on the MU Collegiate Recovery website and submit it to Amy Saunders, Managing Director and Co-Chair of the MU CRC, at saunde22@marshall.edu

Supporting Documents

In your application, please provide one letter of recommendation from an individual who can comment on your commitment to your recovery.

Benefits

All of the applications submitted by you will be reviewed and judged by the selection committee and out of all, the two candidates will be granted the one-time scholarship amount of $200 and the other two will receive $500 each.
