Maine State Grant Program for Adult Learners

FAME or Finance Authority of Maine has always kept its words of providing maximum support to the residents of Maine and advance the growth through education. The 2020-2021 Maine State Grant Program for Adult Learners offers need-based grants to Maine undergraduate students with a date of birth on or before January 1, 1997. Funding is limited and will be awarded on a first-come, first-served basis one time only. To apply for the grant, you must be enrolled at least half time in an undergraduate program at an eligible institution. You must not be a Maine State grant recipient from academic years 2017-2018, 2018-2019, nor 2019-2020.

The purpose behind initiating this scholarship is to support the candidates who are struggling in completing their undergraduate education with less financial stress. This grant supports the young candidates to enhance the growth of Maine. The program promotes education in the state of Maine for the ultimate development of the state.  The grant is purposely designed to make it possible for every Maine resident to pursue higher education and benefit the society with their knowledge. It reduces the financial load on the candidates and helps them in competing for their education free of worries.

FAME’s mission was significantly expanded when the agency assumed responsibility for administering the state’s higher education finance programs. Through a variety of loans, grants, and scholarship programs, FAME helps Maine students and families meet the costs associated with higher education. To aid in this vital effort, FAME also oversees an extensive outreach and counseling program that is designed to encourage young people to aspire to and pursue higher education. FAME is committed to innovative, flexible solutions that address the needs of Maine individuals and companies in a changing economic landscape. With a core competency in finance and a highly experienced staff, FAME is the place to turn to for resources that build success.
