Luce Scholars Program at the Henry Luce Foundation, Inc

The Henry Luce Foundation is delighted to announce the Luce Scholars Program. The program is a nationally competitive fellowship program available to both U.S. citizens and permanent residents.

This program provides a stipend, language training, and personal professional placement in Asia for 15-18 Los Scholars each year. The foundation invites applications from a senior college, undergraduate students, and young professionals in different areas of Asia.

The Henry Luce Foundation is a non-profit private and independent corporation under the laws of New York State. It wants to enrich public discourse by promoting innovative scholarship, cultivating new leaders, and promoting international understanding.

Who May Eligible

  • Applicants must be U.S. citizens and permanent residents.
  • Students should be unique among American-Asian exchanges in that it is intended for young leaders who have had limited experience of Asia and who might not otherwise have an opportunity in the normal course of their careers to come to know Asia.
  • Candidates must be already having significant experience in Asia or Asian studies are not eligible for the Luce Scholars Program.
  • Graduating seniors, recent graduates and young professionals under the age of 30.

How to Apply

  • Once the online application portal is live, each applicant will first have to fill a qualifying form online.
  • If eligible, the applicant will be prompted to complete the application and upload many of the documents such as Luce Scholars Program Application, Request Forms for Four Letters of Recommendation, Academic Transcripts, A Photo.

Benefit: The scholarship will be awarded up to 15-18 awards including basic stipend, living allowance, and housing allowance.

Application Deadline

  • In each campus, Lose Scholar contacts will establish an internal application deadline, usually in the beginning or mid-October.
  • Every nominated institution should not have to make its enrollment before or after the 1st of November, or Monday if it falls on November 1 weekend.
