The Los Charros Foundation has announced a scholarship program for those students that are from the rural communities of Pima, Cochise, or Santa Cruz countries who have plans to attend or attend a post-secondary, trade school, community college, or university. This opportunity is for those students who demonstrate financial need and a reasonable chance for academic success and should be able to express their intent clearly and establish goals. The program provides assistants to rural communities or applicants who have an agricultural background or interest.
The applicants will be eligible for awards based on their application, resume, extracurricular activities, financial need, educational goals and career goals and plans, and other factors. The scholarship amount will award over $100,000, payable to over 1 to 4 years of their education depending on the category. The amount will help students in managing their education expenses such as tuition assistance, books, and other materials, transportation, food, accommodation, and other related expenses. This will help students to focus on their studies, prepare well for their educational goals, and achieve their career objectives in the agricultural background and interest, specialized vocation/certification program (welding, horseshoeing, or any other trade).
The Los Charros Foundation was founded on May 10, 2015, and they found that the best way to support the rural communities where they have ridden for the last 64 years is through helping and supporting the youth, with a focus on leadership education and agriculture. Their aim is to promote the Cowboy Way of Life, Land Conservation, and Youth Development & Education, specifically in Santa Cruz, Pima, and Cochise, Arizona.
