The LANL is proudly expecting applications for its excellent 4-Year Undergraduate Scholarships. Students who are a resident of Northern New Mexico in Los Alamos, Mora, Rio Arriba, San Miguel, Sandoval, Santa Fe, or Taos County are eligible to apply. Candidates should be enrolling in or currently attending an accredited post-secondary educational institution with good academic standing are eligible.
The purpose of these scholarships is to provide considerable financial support to the deserving students and make education easy for them. The Foundation wants to promote the growth of New Mexico and knows well that well-educated individuals create a civilized society. To encourage the students to do better in their academics and follow their dreams and contribute towards the development of New Mexico, these programs have been designed by the Foundation.

Who May Be Eligible?
Here are the requirements which make you eligible for these scholarships:
- Students who are a resident of Northern New Mexico in Los Alamos, Mora, Rio Arriba, San Miguel, Sandoval, Santa Fe, or Taos County are eligible to apply.
- Candidates should be enrolling in or currently attending an accredited post-secondary educational institution with good academic standing are eligible.
- Applicants must have a minimum 3.25 cumulative unweighted grade point average.
- Preference is given to STEM students and not to students with Laboratory affiliation.
- Fellows should demonstrate a commitment to academic achievement, leadership and service, and a financial need to be eligible.
How to Apply
Eligible candidates should apply for the program through an online application form. Applicants must submit all the required details and materials with concern in the form. Please submit your fully completed applications before the deadline as late, or incomplete applications will not be entertained. Please submit all the required materials without any negligence to be considered for the scholarships. Fellows should maintain the originality of the materials.
Supporting Documents
- Transcripts should be submitted along with two letters of recommendation; 1 academic and one extracurricular (from a coach, supervisor, employer, community or Tribal leader, etc.) or, two academic letters of recommendation must be submitted.
- Four essays of 250 words, each describing:
Personal objectives in pursuing a college degree include involvement in leadership activities, community impact, special circumstances, or challenges.
Benefits
The Foundation offers various scholarships that range from $1,000 for a single year up to $20,000 over four years. These scholarships are utilized only to pay education-related expenses like tuition, room, fees, and other verified needs. These scholarships ultimately reduce students’ financial burden and help them make the most of their educational years.

Application and other materials should be submitted by January 19, 2021. The Foundation will accept no late applications. Please submit your applications a few days before the deadline.
