Eligibility Criteria

The LACS Graduate Fellowship is open to graduate students eager to engage with Latin American and Caribbean Studies. Applicants should demonstrate a commitment to actively participating in the program’s activities, including shaping seminar series themes and organizing events that facilitate interactions between undergraduate and graduate students. Familiarizing yourself with ongoing events organized by current Graduate Fellows is strongly encouraged.

Benefits

Selected fellows will have the unique opportunity to immerse themselves in the LACS community for an entire academic year. During this time, they are expected to contribute actively to the seminar series, bringing their unique perspectives to the table. Additionally, fellows will organize at least one event that promotes meaningful interactions between undergraduate and graduate students, with funding provided by LACS.

Each fellow will receive a stipend of $250 per semester, offering financial support for various research-related activities. Whether it’s investing in books, conducting field research, undertaking survey research, or participating in conference-related travel, the stipend is a valuable resource that can be employed at the discretion of the recipient.
