KMTA is organizing a photo contest, and all the amateurs and professionals are invited to participate. For participating, you are required to capture the beauty of the national heritage site through your lenses and submit it before September 30, 2021. The images should be in the highest resolution possible with a minimum size of 300 dpi. You are requested to submit the photograph in a .jpg, .jpeg, or .gif format. Please submit your photograph digitally, labeled with the title, location, category, and artist.

The photo contest is the opportunity for the amateurs to gain skills and confidence by showcasing their talent to the world. The professionals can use the chance to gain a wider audience and boost their careers. The grand prize winner will get a reward of $200, the first winner will get $50, the second winner will get $25, and the third winner will be rewarded with $15. Kenai Mountains – Turnagain Arms National Heritage Area (KMTA) aims to discover, protect, and promote unique relationships between the area’s communities, resources, and landscapes. Who is Eligible?

All the amateur and professional photographers are eligible to participate in the photo contest by submitting images that capture the beauty of the Kenai Mountain – Turnagain Arm National Heritage Area or to speak about KMTA’s role in preserving, promoting, and protecting the national heritage area.

How to Apply?

For participating in the contest, you have to submit photographs captured in the KMTA area, including the communities of Indian, Bird, Hope/Sunrise, Moose Pass, etc. Follow the stated guidelines while clicking the images:

1. Fill the online application form.
2. Click the photos in the highest resolution possible.
3. The image size should be a minimum of 300 dpi and a uniform height/width of 8″ by 10″ or 8″ by 12″.
4. The images should necessarily be in .jpeg, .jpg, or .gif format.
5. The photographs are to be submitted digitally, labeled with the title, location, category, and artist.
6. A maximum of four entries is allowed per person.
