JM Coon $1000 Scholarship for High School Juniors & Seniors

The Zonta International District 2 has announced a scholarship program for students who are high school juniors or seniors and perform outstanding community service. This scholarship has honored Jean McCoy Coon, who served humanitarian efforts and continued to do good for people. This scholarship offers students opportunities to do good for others, may it be their close ones, group, school, or community activities. Students who consistently do something that makes people happy helped, and all the way good through community service are welcome for this program with all the heart.

The applicants will be judged based on their essays, their service reports, including both school and non-school activities, and their application. One selected applicant will receive awards amount of $1,000. The amount will be utilized for the winner’s education-related expenses such as tuition fees, books, other supplies, library fees, transportation, accommodation, and other related and required fees. This will encourage students to continue their community services and activities to make people believe in goodness. With all, they will pursue their education and achieve their goals.

How to Apply?

The students who want to apply for this program should fill out the application form and provide all the required details; applicants must write two essays, one stating why do they perform community service and why did they select their specific community service projects (not more than 100 words) and another describing up to three of the community service projects they have performed and the impact they believe that this service project has had on their community and the targeted community if it is different from their local community (up to 400 words) and other details the application asked for. If Zonta Club contact information is not printed on the application, students must locate a Zonta Club nearest them by using the Club Locator at www.Zonta.org. The applicants will be selected for awards based on their application, their essays, their school, non-school activities, and other factors. Selected applicants will receive an award amount of $1,000, which will be used for the winner’s educational purposes, such as managing their education-related expenses, including tuition assistance, books, and other supplies, library fees, transportation, accommodation, and other related and required expenses. This will motivate and encourage students to bring up good changes in the community by providing a helping hand to the one who needs it. And will also encourage them to continue their community activities and services and pursue their education in the field of their choice to achieve their educational and career goals.

All applicants interested in applying for this scholarship program should fill out their application form and submit it before the district due date of April 01, 2022. Delayed applications will not be considered for the current session awards.
