Indiana University is currently receiving applications from eligible candidates for an amazing funding scheme named Alpha Blackburn Scholarship for the Arts. To participate, applicants must be full-time incoming freshmen enrolled in any area of study at Indiana University’s Herron School of Art and Design. All qualified entrants must hold a minimum GPA of 3.0 and exhibit outstanding talent. For this scholarship, preference will be given to underrepresented populations including financially challenged students, students with diverse cultural experiences, and African American students with significant financial need.
Alpha Blackburn Scholarship was established in 2013 to support undergraduate-level education of promising students, who are facing financial crises, at Herron School of Art and Design. The motive of the university behind offering this scholarship is to ensure that no deserving student is deprived of earning higher education right after their high school due to financial reasons. This scholarship will not only provide financial support to students who cannot afford the cost of attending college but help them achieve their goals and make a difference in their learning journey.

- Recipients of the scholarship must have a minimum GPA of 3.0 and demonstrate outstanding talent, as determined by Herron faculty;
- Special consideration will be given to underrepresented populations including financially challenged students and/or students with diverse cultural experiences and African American students who demonstrate financial need.
How to Apply
All newly admitted undergraduate students of Herron School of Art and Design need to submit their portfolio through Herron’s SlideRoom and complete a General Scholarship application to receive this scholarship.
Benefits
The winner of this scholarship will get an award up to $500. This award will support their undergraduate level education at the university and assist them in paying for their educational expenses such as books and supplies, tuition, fee, and transportation, etc.
