The Horticultural Research Institute is giving away a total of seven scholarships for the year 2020. The awards are open for a number of students indulged in the study of nursery, landscape and horticulture program.
The program includes various enormous grants to support phenomenal students in their educational career. The recipients will be able to pay for the high cost of educational expense like tuition, fees and books.
The Horticultural Research Institute, the AmericanHort Foundation supports scientific research and students for the advancement of the horticultural industry. Its work strengthens the horticulture community for the benefit of industry segments.

Who May Eligible?
The interested candidates can check some necessary requirements of all programs:
- Must be a resident of Connecticut, Maine, Massachusetts, New Hampshire, Rhode Island, or Vermont. May attend school in any state.
- Must attend an Ohio school. No residency requirement.
- Must attend a California school. No residency requirement.
- Must be a resident of Maryland, Virginia, or West Virginia. May attend school in any state
- 25 overall; 3.0 in major
- nursery, landscape, horticulture program or related discipline
How to Apply
The students are required to submit their applications with the supplemental documentation through an online application form to get considered.

- Must mention general contact information, statement of financial need, personal essay, resume, transcripts,
- Two letters of recommendation from a student advisor, instructor, employer, or business associate

- The Timothy S. and Palmer W. Bigelow, Jr. Scholarship for one scholar up to $3000
- The Usrey Family Scholarship for one scholar up to $1,000
- The Bryan A. Champion Memorial Scholarship for one scholar up to $1,000
- The Susie & Bruce Usrey Education Scholarship for one scholar up to $500
- The Spring Meadow Scholarship for three scholars up to $3,000
- The “Muggets” Scholarship for one scholar up to $1,000
- The Carville M. Akehurst Memorial Scholarship for one scholar up to $3,000
