Applications are currently open for the Historical Essay Scholarship Competition. The program is being conducted by the Polonia Institute to commemorate the 80th anniversary of the Katyn Genocide. The adults who are of age 18 years and above will be applicable to grab the enormous award.
The grants are established with a motive of financially assisting talented and hard-working scholars. The applicants are asked to address the significance and consequences of the denial of justice to the victims of Katyn and the candidate describing the topic best will be handed over funds for their studies.
The Polonia Institute’s mission is to actively promote and protect the interests of Poland, the Polish people, and Polonia in the United States and around the world. It also encourages Americans of Polish ancestry to higher positions within the US administrative, governmental, legislative, and judicial bodies.

Who May Eligible?
To eligible, the candidates must be review eligibility criteria:
- Open to all adults who are 18 years of age as of August 1, 2020.

Supporting Documents
- The essay shall reflect the contestant’s research and original thinking.
- The paper shall not exceed 15 typed pages (excluding bibliography), shall be typed in 12-point font, double-spaced with 1” margins; pages shall be numbered.
- All entries become the property of the Polonia Institute and will not be returned.
- Polonia Institute reserves the right to publish selected essays or excerpts of selected essays in future publications, newsletters, and other materials.
- Must attach the Application Form and proof of age to the essay.
Benefits
The Polonia Institute is distributing the first Prize of $5,000 scholarship to a deserving scholar. Additional monetary awards will be offered, and the received essays may be considered for recognition and publication.
