The 2020 National Hispanic Health Professional Scholarship is open to any student enrolled full time in the accredited graduate programs of Medicine, Dentistry, Pharmacy, Nursing, Public Health or policy, and physician assistant. Eligible students must be enrolled full time for the 2020-2021 academic year. Applicants are not required to be Hispanic, and affinity for Hispanic communities’ health and an interest in participating in NHHF Scholars Alumni activities is needed.
This scholarship aims to support the deserving students in performing excellently in their academic careers. The foundation understands that it’s essential to provide needed financial support to the students who are willing to complete their higher education, especially in medicine. This program is designed to support the deserving students’ education and help them expand the medical areas. It motivates the students to perform excellently on their careers by keeping them in paying their debts.
The National Hispanic Health Foundation (NHHF) (501c3) was established in 1994 in Washington, DC, as the National Hispanic Medical Foundation as the National Hispanic Medical Association’s philanthropic arm. The mission of the foundation is to support educational and research activities to improve the health of Hispanics. In 2004, NHHF established the National Hispanic Health Professional Student Scholarship program and its first Gala in New York City for medical, nursing, dental, public health, pharmacy, and health policy students with outstanding academic records, leadership and who are committed to serving Hispanics. In 2007, NHHF started its partnership with the United Health Foundation in this unique national effort and the following year, a second annual Gala in California.

The 2020 National Hispanic Health Professional Scholarship is open to any student enrolled full time in the following accredited graduate programs:

- Dentistry
- Pharmacy
- Nursing (including BSN)
- Public Health/Policy
- Physician Assistant
- Eligible students must be enrolled full time for the 2020-2021 academic year.
- Applicants are not required to be Hispanic, and affinity for the health of Hispanic communities and an interest in participating in NHHF Scholars Alumni activities is needed.

Eligible and interested students need to submit the online application form with all the details required and documents. Late or incomplete applications are not considered for the program. - Personal Statement, including career goals (double-spaced, two (2)-page maximum, 12-pt font, 1-inch margin).
- Current curriculum vitae or resume is needed.
- One (1) letter of recommendation should be submitted.
- Unofficial transcripts are mandatory.
- Proof of US Citizenship, Residency, or DACA status (i.e., passport, birth certificate, naturalization certificate, driver’s license, or Form I-797C). Please blackout any sensitive information before submitting your proof of residency.
Benefits
The foundation awards 15 to 20 scholarships each year. This program provides enough financial support to the students for completing their education without stressing themselves about the debts. It encourages students to accomplish all their goals related to their careers. The funds received should be utilized to pay the educational expenses of the selected candidates.
