Highly Sensitive Person Scholarship

Being a highly sensitive person is always considered to be not good. People who are highly sensitive often have to go through many challenges when they face the world outside their home especially their comfort zone. It can be hard for such people to get fit in an environment with which they are not familiar. However, there is nothing wrong with being sensitive and infect it is not weakness but strength. People with high sensitivity are very compassionate and empathetic. Highly Sensitive Refuge understands the struggle of such people and is dedicated to normalizing high sensitivity in the world. As part of its commitment, it has brought a fantastic program aimed at supporting people who are highly sensitive. To qualify for this program, applicants need to be enrolled as a student in an accredited college or university or be an incoming new student at an accredited institution.

With the help of this scholarship, Highly Sensitive Refuge wants to tell the world that being highly sensitive is more than just okay. It is a gift. Highly Sensitive Refuge sees that high sensitivity is still not valued everywhere and there are many highly sensitive people who struggle to change that mentality through their academic and career goals. This is the reason why Highly Sensitive Refuge has come with this amazing funding opportunity which will act as a helping hand for highly sensitive people in advancing their education and lessening their financial pressure. Through this scholarship, Highly Sensitive Refuge seeks to help such people get success not only in their education but a careers, and motivate them to bring a positive difference in this world.

Highly Sensitive Refuge was started as a labor of love between two sensitive people named Andre Solo and Jenn Granneman. Andre Solo and Jenn Granneman began Highly Sensitive Refuge to change the way the world sees and talks about it. It is a community where HSP can take a break from the harshness of the world, be themselves, and feel to be understood.

Who May Be Eligible

Applicants must meet the following requirements before applying for the program:

  • Applicants must be highly sensitive person (HSP);
  • Candidates should be enrolled as a student in an accredited college or university, or you must be an incoming new student (already accepted) at an accredited institution;
  • Aspirants must be in the United States;
  • Participants must have a GPA of 3.0 or higher.

How to Apply

To start the application process, all you need to do is to complete an online application form that needs to be filled with all correct and complete information. In case any information provided by you is found incorrect or incomplete, you might be disqualified. So please make sure, your information is accurate.

Supporting Documents

Along with their application, students must submit an unofficial high school or college transcript and an essay that must be 500 to 1,000 words in length and based on one of the following topics:

Topic 1: The Discovery. For many HSPs, learning about high sensitivity for the first time is eye-opening. How did learning that you’re an HSP change the way you see yourself — and the way you see your place in the world? What changes did this discovery lead you to make, either in your relationships, your goals, or the way you present yourself?

Topic 2: Flipping the Script. It’s common for HSPs to feel misunderstood. What have you done to change the way people see you, and highly sensitive people in general? What steps have you taken to establish healthier relationships or build acceptance and respect for high sensitivity? How has this paid off — and what change do you see it making?

Topic 3: Higher Purpose. Highly sensitive people tend to be driven by a sense of purpose. Other than your own immediate success, what is the higher purpose, cause, or vision that you hope your academic/career path will serve? How does being an HSP help you work toward and succeed at that purpose?

Winners will get to win a $1,000 scholarship for their college education.
