Hauss Helms Foundation Scholarship

Hauss Helms Foundation has started considering applications from bright and self-motivated students for its excellent scholarship program. Hauss Helms Foundation was formed in 1965 by Mrs. Besse Hauss Helms and her husband, Walter B. Helms, for the motive of aiding worthy students in the Auglaize and Allen County, Ohio area to continue their education past high school. It is not for profit corporation led by a Board of Trustees.

Who May Be Eligible

Please take a look at the following requirements to see whether you are eligible or not:

  • Applicants who are high school seniors;
  • Candidates must have a cumulative grade point average of 3.0 as of the end of the second nine weeks of their senior year of high school and have a composite ACT score of 16 or above, or a composite SAT score of 880 or above;
  • High school applicants in the upper 50% of his/her high school graduating class will be considered, but this will not be determinative because some high schools no longer track high school class rank;
  • Applicants who are already attending college and are applying for the first time, or who did not receive a grant in the prior academic year, must supply their high school transcript with class rank, if applicable, and high school GPA, ACT or SAT score, as well as their college transcript with cumulative GPA;
  • Applicants who are in high school, and applicants who are in college who have not previously received a grant, must supply a copy of their high school transcript through at least the end of the second nine weeks of their senior year. High school transcripts must contain the applicant’s cumulative GPA and class rank, if applicable. These applicants must also supply independent verification of their composite ACT or SAT scores, if not already started on the high school transcript.
