Guttman Transfer Scholarships

Will you earn an associate degree from any of CUNY’s community colleges in fall 2020? The CUNY or the City University of New York is highly dedicated to supporting the deserving students and making their educational journey more straightforward. The CUNY is proudly presenting you with the Guttman Transfer Scholarships. Guttman Transfer Scholarships offer benefits for outstanding CUNY community college students who transfer to an eligible CUNY senior college (Brooklyn, City, Hunter, Lehman, and Queens). Applicants must have a current cumulative GPA of 3.5 or above.

CUNY can offer these scholarships through an endowment provided by the Stella and Charles Guttman Foundation. These scholarships are designed to support deserving students and make education easy for them. It encourages the students to maintain a good academic record and appreciates them for their previous record. The primary purpose of the scholarship is to provide some funds to the students who need it. These programs are designed to motivate students and help them achieve the best in their lives.

Who May Be Eligible?

Here are the requirements you need to stand on before applying for the scholarship:

  • Candidate must have earned an associate degree from any of CUNY’s community colleges in Fall 2020.
  • The applicant should have a current cumulative GPA of 3.5 or above.
  • Fellows should apply ply for financial aid by filing a FAFSA, with priority given to eligible for financial aid.
  • Candidates should apply for a Spring 2021 transfer to Brooklyn, City, Hunter, Lehman, or Queens College and enroll full time in Spring 2021 (at least 12 credits).
  • Spring 2021 must be the applicant’s first semester in senior college.

How to Apply

If you are interested in applying for the Guttman Transfer Scholarship, please note two application cycles each year. You must apply before you start at a participating senior college. Students who meet eligibility requirements will have a link to the online application in their CUNYfirst “To Do” list. Students must complete an online application. Candidates should submit all the required materials with concern to be considered. Applicants should log in using their credentials, and if they do not have one, they can register or create a new account.
