The Greater Jacksonville Agricultural Fair Association, like every year, this year too is offering a scholarship to students majoring or planning to major in agriculture, veterinary medicine, or other fields of study. The primary purpose of the following scholarship is to encourage personal growth and knowledge. Any applicant who is at least a high school senior at the time of application and a resident of one of the following Florida counties: Duval, Baker, Bradford, Clay, Nassau, or St. Johns County is eligible to apply. The applicant also must be enrolled or planning to enroll in a four-year university, junior college, or technical institution.
The Scholarship Committee of the Greater Jacksonville Fair will review all complete applications and decided the winners. The winners will be announced during the Greater Jacksonville Agricultural Fair. The decision of the Scholarship Committee is final. The scholarship money which is to be granted will be assigned to and administered by the winner’s college, university, or technical institution. If a scholarship winner drops out of school, any unused portion of scholarship funds will be returned to the Jacksonville Fair. Participation in this program is open to all individuals regardless of race, color, creed, sexual orientation, or national origin. The deadline for the same is October 1, 2021.
Since 1955, the Greater Jacksonville Agricultural Fair has been educating, enlightening, and informing the people of North Florida about science, the arts, agriculture, and horticulture. The Greater Jacksonville Fair Association is a private, not-for-profit educational association chartered by the state of Florida and dedicated to maintaining a high-quality family fair.
The Fair was headquartered in the former Gator Bowl (now transformed into the Jacksonville Municipal Stadium). The Greater Jacksonville Agricultural Fair is the largest fair/festival in northeast Florida and is currently ranked 47th in the United States by Amusement Business. The fair has an estimated economic impact on Duval County over $10 million.

How to Apply?
The interested individuals are required to submit the application form given on the scholarship portal and submit the one (1) page essay, which briefly discusses their background, lists of any awards, special recognition, community, high school, sorority, fraternity, civic, agricultural or religious organizations in which you are now or have been involved, and your leadership experience within those organizations. (Essay should be typed in Times New Roman-Font 11)
Supporting Documents
Following are the documents that need to be attached with your application form:
- Three (3) original letters of recommendation, which are each one page. They should be the original and, where applicable, they should be written on the letterhead of the person making the recommendation.
Benefits
All of the applications submitted by you will be reviewed and judged by the selection committee and out of all, the most deserving candidates will be selected as the winners of the following scholarship. The scholarship money will directly be transferred to the candidate’s university, college, or institution he or she is currently attending.
