The Greater Houston Builders Association is currently assisting hard-working students by offering RMC Scholarships for their future college-related expenses. The scholarship program presented by the Associate Council helps the member’s children in pursuing a college degree. These scholarships are made possible through the donations of generous association members. All funds donated go directly to student scholarships.
The scholarship amount will be financially assisting scholars who require funds to accomplish their further higher and quality education. The students will be able to complete their studies without worrying about any economic barriers. Scholarships will be awarded to applicants who demonstrate the characteristics that both Bill and Leo personified: initiative, service to the community, and outstanding achievement
The Greater Houston Builders Association (GHBA) proudly represents all aspects of the residential building industry in the greater Houston area. GHBA is the voice of Houston’s residential construction industry, serving the members and the community by education, advocating professionalism, and quality housing. The association is also active in community outreach and charitable events. The scholarships are named in memory of Leo Merman and Bill Carter.

Who May be Eligible?
The eligibility requirements for the mentioned scholarship is based on:
- Be a high school senior or college student
- College-bound high school seniors and students enrolled full-time in an accredited college or university in the U.S. are eligible to apply.
- Be the child of any employee of GHBA Member Company.
- Get three references
- Must be of good character (three written references are required).

Students have to download a pdf application form which is to be filled and submitted either by mail or email at GHBA 9511 W. SAM HOUSTON PKWY. N HOUSTON, TX 77064 ATTENTION: DONNA BUENIK OR DBUENIK@GHBA.ORG. Applicants should ensure they submit enough information during their admission process to be considered for these scholarships. Data should be enough to reflect your academic excellence. After the selection process, candidates will be appointed for the interview.

- Must attach an essay of a minimum 250 words describing in your own words why you believe you should be awarded this scholarship
