The program is open for those applicants who have a desire to pursue a degree in the field of computer and its aim to provide financial support for the students .
Student Veterans of America (SVA) is a non-profit organization. The organization focused on addressing the needs and concerns of American military veterans in higher education. Through this program SVA wants to inspire and help students become future leaders in computing and technology.

Who May Eligible
Eligible student must meet the below minimum criteria:
- Applicants must be currently enrolled as an undergraduate or graduate student at an accredited four-year university for the 2019-2020 academic year
- Candidates intend to be enrolled in or accepted as a full-time student at an accredited four-year university in the United States for the 2020-2021 academic year
- Applicants must maintain their strong academic performance.
- Candidates must be pursuing a Computer Science or Computer Engineering degree, or a degree in a closely related technical field.
- All the participants must have received an honorable discharge, or currently be in good standing with his/her branch of service.
How to Apply
By completing the following steps you can apply for this award:
- Students need to upload a letter of recommendation.
- Applicants need to answer the following questions (200-300 words per essay question).
- How did you become interested in computer science, and what are your goals or aspirations when you think about pursuing a degree in this field? In your answer, please describe how your experiences have influenced the goals you have for yourself.
- What is a significant challenge that you believe student veterans in the field of technology face and how do you see yourself as being part of the solution(s) to this challenge? Keep in mind that impact can happen in many ways and at different scales.
- What impact would receiving this scholarship have on your education? Describe any circumstances affecting your need for a scholarship and what educational goals this scholarship will enable you to accomplish
Benefits
The amount of $10,000 will be awarded to student veterans pursuing a degree in the field of computer science.
