The College of Natural Resources is ecstatic to announce its Forest Biomaterials Scholarships for the current academic year. The program is created to support various passionate incoming freshmen, transfer students and upperclassmen engaged in Paper Science and Engineering program or Sustainable Materials and Technology major.
The College decided to organize the grant to financially support hardworking students who are in search of funds to complete their higher education. The program will also let students have hands-on experience through the well-paying summer internships and semester co-op jobs.

Who May Be Eligible?
Interested candidates must be reviewing the given eligibility criteria:
Paper Science and Engineering Scholarships
- Students must be enrolled in NC State’s Paper Science and Engineering program.
- Students must take the courses listed on the semester by semester plan for Paper Science and Engineering or the Paper Science and Engineering dual degree with Chemical Engineering.
- Must maintain a total cumulative grade point average of 3.000 or higher.
- If the student’s TGPA falls below a 3.000, the student will be placed on probation for one semester.
Sustainable Materials and Technology Scholarships
- Students must be a full-time student enrolled in the Sustainable Materials and Technology major.
- Students must take the courses listed on the Semester by Semester Plan for Sustainable Materials and Technology.
- Students must not have received a full NC State scholarship that covers all tuition, housing, and living expenses.
How to Apply
Eligible students will be considered automatically after admitted to NC State. The applicants must then complete the Pack Assist Scholarship Application and the College of Engineering AND the Paper Science and Engineering Supplemental Questions. For incoming students, once you are admitted to NC State, complete the Pack Assist Scholarship Application for the Sustainable Materials and Technology Scholarships.

Paper Science and Engineering Scholarships
- Paper Science and Engineering Scholarships include over 130 individual endowed scholarships for the Paper Science and Engineering students, with half of all our students receiving funding from these merit-based awards, averaging $11,500.
- Sustainable Materials and Technology Scholarships start ranging from $500 to $3,000 which are awarded to more than 40 percent of our students every year.
