The undergraduate and graduate females pursuing media career and attending an accredited college or university in the U.S are invited to join the Ford Empowering America Scholarship. The Alliance for Women in media organized the program for the current year 2020.
The award has a purpose of empowering women and their career through the financial assistance they need to complete their education. The recipient of the program will be handed over a valuable sum of money to cover any expenses.
The Alliance for Women in Media was established in 1951 as American Women in Radio and Television. It becomes the first professional broadcasting organization to form an educational foundation and works to connect, recognize, and inspire women across the media industry.
Who May Eligible?
To be eligible for the scholarship, the applicants must be following all the eligibility criteria:
- Must be a female undergraduate or graduate student attending an accredited college or university in the United States
- Must be pursuing a media career in an area such as cable, television, radio, digital media, publishing, journalism, advertising, production, creative design
How to Apply
The eligible females can enter the program by filling their details electronically through an online application form which can be found on the same main page.
Supporting Documents
- A letter of recommendation from a professor of journalism/media/communications professional
- Proof of enrollment via a copy of your student id or transcript.
Benefits
The Alliance for Women in Media is distributing one student winner a $3,000 award and another runner up a $2,000. The amount can be used for any related purpose of higher education.
